We began the #StopSingleUsePlastic campaign on the occasion of World Environment Day in 2018 with the intention of asking all political buildings to introduce a ban on the use of “disposable” plastic products within institutional services and offices. The campaign soon extended to many other areas of society, involving schools, municipalities, universities, ports and the world of cinema and reaching hundreds of thousands of people throughout Italy.

The problem we face is that

300 million tons

of plastic we produce every single year It is predicted that by year 2030 we could reach 619 million tons.

13 million tons

The plastic that ends up in the oceans every year: is comparable to 16 bags full of garbage for every meter of coast.

700

Marine species threatened by plastic at the global level: they mistake plastic for food and then die from indigestion or suffocation.

There is no more time to

To be indifferent

Plastic has invaded our houses and our lives. Choose to reduce your impact on the environment: #StopSingleUsePlastic.

Schools

School plays a vital role in the education and training of children and can even play a central role especially in raising awareness among the young generations on plastic pollution and on the importance of protecting the environment and the marine ecosystem. This is why we asked schools to become plastic free, eliminating the use of single-use plastic, and creating a network amongst participating schools.
