Sailing Division

An alliance to protect the sea
and its inhabitants

Marevivo Sailing Division was created thanks to the collaboration and support of Lega Italiana Vela (LIV), with the aim to promote knowledge about marine ecosystem, raising awareness on the importance of biodiversity conservation and drawing attention to the threats to the Blue Planet.

The agreement, signed by Marevivo and LIV on 7 March 2017, was publicly presented at the National Assembly of the Italian Sailing Federation, at CONI on 10th March.

Plastic Free Regattas

From Monaco to Scarlino, where Nautor’s Swan has officially launched its sustainable racing project, to Palma de Mallorca for the Nations Trophy. With the support of Marevivo, Nautor has committed to eliminate the presence of disposable plastic on board of all boats and within the regatta facilities. The instructions were shared with all participating crews, so they could adapt to sustainability standards.

Trofeo Marevivo

The Circolo Canottieri Aniene has dedicated to the protection of the sea the 10th edition of its offshore race La Lunga Bolina establishing the Marevivo Trophy to witness the commitment of the association that, since 1985, works to protect marine ecosystem. To become a plastic free boat, some guidelines have been identified to follow. There are seven boats that participated in the #Stopsingleuseplastic #Plasticfree contest, which invited all the competitors to give up disposable plastic, as pointed out during the briefing by the head of the Sailing Division Nicola Granati. The association participated in the race with the boat “Tevere Remo Marevivo” which, like the other boats participating in the contest, has totally banned disposable plastic. The “Tevere Remo Marevivo“, with its owner Gianrocco Catalano, won the first place in the ORC classification.
